This Acceptable Use Policy outlines the rules for using the services provided by us (“Hosting Services”). By using the Hosting Services, you agree to comply with this policy, which forms part of and supplements our terms and conditions. Jojohost Limited reserves the right to update this Acceptable Use Policy at any time without prior notice.
RESOURCE USAGE
The Shared Hosting Services provided by Jojohost include web space on our servers, allowing you to upload pages and files for the purpose of publishing websites.
The Shared Hosting Services offer “unlimited” server space for routine “non-file-distribution” web usage. For websites that enable downloading of video, audio, or other files, Jojohost reserves the right to impose a bandwidth limit of two hundred and fifty (250) gigabytes per calendar month.
Non-file-distribution usage will not be affected by any limit imposed on downloading video, audio, or other files.
When using the Shared Hosting Services (except when using your own virtual private server), you may not:
a. Use more than 10% of our platform’s processing capacity. This includes (but is not limited to) activities such as CGI scripts and intensive FTP, PHP, or HTTP operations.
b. Run stand-alone, unattended server-side processes or any daemons, including (but not limited to) IRCd.
c. Run any type of web spider or indexer.
d. Run software that interfaces with an Internet Relay Chat (IRC) network.
e. Run any bit torrent application, tracker, or client. You may link to legal torrent files hosted offsite but may not host or store them on Jojohost servers.
f. Participate in file-sharing/peer-to-peer activities.
g. Run any gaming servers.
h. Schedule tasks or cron jobs outside our control panel configurations.
i. Provide free web space under a domain (including resellers giving away free websites).
j. Operate a proxy website or service.
k. Use the Hosting Services as a remote file host for other websites.
l. Operate self-hosted file-sync or “cloud storage” services (e.g., OwnCloud, Pydio, Sparkleshare).
The Hosting Services must not be used as an offsite backup facility. All files uploaded must be visible and accessible to the outside world unless they are necessary for website operation. Jojohost reserves the right to delete files or directories that are not web-visible without notice.
All website pages hosted on Jojohost servers will be accessible to search engines unless you take specific actions to block them. If optimizing for search engines, you agree to adhere to the guidelines issued by major search engines such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo.
MySQL databases are limited to 1024 MB in size. Jojohost will notify you if this limit is reached.
If you are a reseller and deactivate a resold web hosting account, Jojohost will delete it after 50 days.
PROHIBITED USES
Hosting Services provided by Jojohost may only be used for lawful purposes. You may not use the Hosting Services:
a. To breach any applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations.
b. In any way that is unlawful or fraudulent, or that has unlawful or fraudulent purposes or effects.
c. To harm or attempt to harm minors.
d. To send, upload, or download material that violates content standards (see Section C).
e. To transmit unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional material, or similar solicitations (SPAM).
f. To knowingly send or upload harmful software, such as viruses, worms, spyware, or adware.
g. Hosting phishing websites or attempting to steal user credentials, financial, or personal information
h. Engaging in scams, fraud, impersonation, or deceptive activities of any kind
i. Distributing malware, harmful content, or using social-engineering techniques
j. Using hosting services for identity theft or unauthorized impersonation
k. Using Jojohost hosting services as a backup solution, file storage, cloud storage, video or audio storage, or video/audio hosting service
l. Any account found violating the above policies will be disabled immediately without prior notice and without refund
CONTENT STANDARDS
These standards apply to all materials hosted through Jojohost Hosting Services, including interactive services.
Material must:
a. Be accurate (where it states facts).
b. Reflect genuinely held opinions.
c. Comply with applicable laws in the UK and any other jurisdiction from which it is posted.
Material must not:
a. Be defamatory, obscene, offensive, or inflammatory.
b. Promote violence or discrimination.
c. Contain pornography.
d. Infringe copyrights, database rights, or trademarks.
e. Deceive, harass, or impersonate others.
f. Promote illegal activities or breach legal duties owed to third parties.
ZERO TOLERANCE SPAM POLICY
Jojohost strictly prohibits the sending of unsolicited email, bulk emailing, and spam. Accounts found sending spam may be terminated without notice.
Websites advertised through spam cannot be hosted on Jojohost servers. This includes spam sent via fax, phone, mail, email, or messaging platforms.
Jojohost reserves the right to require changes or disable any account or component that does not comply with this policy.
Jojohost may charge clean-up fees for any blacklisting caused by spam originating from your account.
SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION
Jojohost will determine if there has been a breach of this policy and take appropriate actions, including:
a. Immediate suspension or termination of Hosting Services.
b. Removal of content violating the policy.
c. Issuing warnings or initiating legal proceedings for damages.
d. Reporting violations to law enforcement.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
Jojohost may amend this policy at any time. You are advised to review this page periodically to stay informed of updates, as they are legally binding.
Resale of services is strictly prohibited on all plans except Reseller plans. If any unauthorized resale activity is detected, Jojohost reserves the right to take strict and immediate action against the involved account.
